In our test of how it cleaned baking soda close to corners and baseboards, the Scout RX3 was impressive. Its 2,500Pa of suction was less powerful than other robots, but it moved quickly and was very quiet. It didn't clean, however and its cleaning pads were a bit difficult to attach and couldn't cope with dirt that had dried on.
Its app is on the basic side, lacking advanced features like multiple cleaning modes and automated scheduling. It works with Alexa however its voice commands aren't intuitive or responsive. It's also a little erratic when it returns to the charging station following the course. Other robots can follow an obstruction or follow an earlier route however, the RX3 stumbles around until it gives up.
We also encountered issues with the intelligent features of the device, namely its mapping feature and digital stay-out zones. While it did a good job of avoiding our furniture legs and shoes but it could easily be stuck by cables and socks, and was unable to handle the tassels that adorn rug. We decided not to include the Scout RX3 on our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and a dazzling performance. It's worth looking into as an alternative to the traditional uprights.
